GUITAR TUNING PRECAUSIONS?
I Wanted to learn to play wonderful tonight on my acoustic guitar ... i used a guitar tuner online ... it was a good tuner and i always use it... this music needs Drop D tuning so i tightened my string and it broke... i also used the tuner for the drop D tuning before but why it broke... and now i m scared to tune the guitar on the drop the tuning.... Any hints please...!!!!! I also restring my guitar before.. strings were (phosphorus bronze extra light gauge 3 months old)

I play the classic guitar. I have learnt the notes differently as in do re mi. D as you say is the same as re. When you tune the 6th cord to D (or re), you are supposed to loosen the cord, to go down and not up. so you don't tighten, you loosen, you get the lower D not the higher one.
